We’ve been seeing rumors about the Xiaomi 15S Pro for several months now. During this time, we’ve heard everything while trying to discern truth from false information, but Xiaomi has finally confirmed that it is indeed working on its next flagship, and that it will also mark the return of the S Series.
The S Series was a superior version of the current-generation phones, bridging the gap between the latest devices and those of the next generation. Similar to Nvidia’s Super line of graphics cards, it was a way to ease the wait for the next phones with more powerful and interesting versions of the highest-end devices to date.
Its latest representatives were none other than the Xiaomi 12S Pro and the Xiaomi 12S. We thought this series had been abandoned by the prolific company, but it seems Xiaomi is more productive than ever and confirms that we will have both the 15S Pro and 15S.
Xiaomi confirms that the 15S Pro and 15S are in the works.
The official confirmation of the Xiaomi 15S Pro project has arrived through Weibo, one of the most important Chinese social networks, which we could equate to something like X in the West, the old Twitter. It was there where one of the best-known leakers asked, openly, what the future smartphone would be like. His question has been answered by none other than Lin Bin, one of the founding fathers of the brand, who has confirmed in person that the Xiaomi 15S Pro will be the firm’s next mobile, and that there will also be a Xiaomi 15S.
We don’t have any other official information from Xiaomi at the moment, but Lin Bin’s words are more than enough confirmation that the S Series will be back with evolved versions of the Xiaomi 15 Pro and the Xiaomi 15. Of course, what we don’t know is if, when they are launched, they will leave China and reach the global market, mainly due to some of the rumored features.
Single processor and UWB technology
One of the most striking details of the Xiaomi 15S Pro is that leaks and rumors attribute a unique processor to it , developed expressly by Xiaomi and therefore not part of the Qualcomm or MediaTek lines. What can we expect from a chipset like this? If Xiaomi is working on a project with these characteristics, it must be because it hopes to surpass what the two major processor lines offer, but this could lead to compatibility issues and the adaptation of major apps and games.
What’s more, this is already happening today, with many demanding games unable to fully exploit the potential of MediaTek’s most powerful chipsets due to Snapdragon’s dominance in the market.
On the other hand, Xiaomi has recently received certifications that could indicate its new device will feature 90W fast charging and Ultra-wideband technology , a feature that enables high-quality connections between devices and could point to use in connecting smartphones to cars. Does this mean we’ll soon see Xiaomi vehicles?
