After the release of the Mac Mini M4, I decided to purchase this desktop computer, and to complement it, I also got the Magic Keyboard, Apple’s own keyboard and that synchronizes perfectly with the apple ecosystem, so, despite its price, do not hesitate.
However, after a while, there are some points in which this device does not convince me, especially due to its cost, since I think it does not compensate, and despite being very good, since I will also talk about its pros I wouldn’t buy it again.
Magic Keyboard Review
On the one hand, its positive points are multiple, from the possibility of unlocking the Mac with a fingerprint, incorporated into a physical button on the keyboard itself, to its battery life, which you will even forget that it is wireless. However, the price sometimes does not reflect what it offers us.
If we find this product on sale, for even less than 100 euros, as we could see at some time of the year, it can be a great decision, however, if we go for the official price, and even more so if we want it in a black version, the thing changes, and this keyboard is going away, in its numerical version, to 229 euroswhich is outrageous for a simple peripheral.
Therefore, more than criticizing the keyboard itself, I criticize its price, and the fact is that there are similar versions that try to imitate it, even in design, for 30 or 40 euros, being of very good quality, and even for less value, which makes me makes you reconsider whether it is worth it, since, at the end of the day, despite having good battery and Touch IDit doesn’t offer me anything more than simple keys, which although they are comfortable to the touch, and seem to be of quality, I would have to break 6 keyboards before this one stopped working, for it to compensate for its purchase.
The same thing happens to me with the Magic Trackpad, although in this case I cannot give the same opinion because the imitations of this one are not even similar, and, therefore, despite the fact that in terms of quality and price, it is not the best product , it is true that you will not find the same thing for less, so if you want it, you have to pay for it.
In short, they are quality products, but unlike the Mac Mini M4 itself, which I believe is the best equipment in quality and price on the market, the brand’s accessories are not, and you pay a price that does not correspond to what they offer you. It may be the most premium on the market, but it’s not worth spending so muchsince in the end, between monitor, keyboard and mouse or trackpad, you are spending more than on the computer itself, and that is somewhat illogical, when, as I said, there are alternatives for 30 euros of similar quality.
