Thanks to its strategic partnership with OpenAI, Microsoft has had a head start in the artificial intelligence race. Initially, the firm integrated OpenAI technologies into its Bing search engine, to offer a ChatGPT-type chatbot interface. This experience was called “Bing Chat”. But subsequently, Microsoft carried out a rebranding by replacing Bing Chat with Copilot.

Furthermore, Copilot has evolved by no longer being limited to a chatbot experience, since it also includes AI-based features integrated into Windows. But currently, Microsoft would still not be satisfied. And, according to new rumors, it is already studying a new strategy for AI, as well as a new brand.

Copilot replaced by “Windows Intelligence”?

In a recent article, the TechRadar site relays a source on X which would have discovered a reference to “Windows Intelligence” in code. And it could be the new brand of Microsoft’s artificial intelligence on Windows instead of Copilot.

As usual, caution remains in order while awaiting official information. But in any case, if Microsoft risks attracting the wrath of some Internet users, the Windows Intelligence brand would also make it possible to clarify the function of AI to the general public.

Furthermore, this new brand could be accompanied by a new strategy which consists of banking on the integration of AI into Windows to offer useful features on the operating system. In addition, thanks to recent developments in processors, some PCs are now able to run part of the AI functionalities locally, instead of relying on the cloud for computing power. This local operation not only ensures the confidentiality of sensitive information, it also allows for faster responses.

  • After replacing Bing Chat with Copilot, Microsoft could adopt “Windows Intelligence” for the AI functionalities of its OS
  • This is what a new rumor suggests
  • As usual, caution remains in order, but this new name, which recalls the “Apple Intelligence” brand, could help Microsoft popularize its AI features on Windows
