Following the addition of cloud gaming to PlayStation Portal by PlayStation yesterday, Xbox reacted in less than 24 hours by extending its cloud offering to libraries of purchased games. This major modification now allows access to this functionality, formerly reserved for Game Pass Ultimate, in a broader manner.
A direct response to PlayStation
Xbox announces something new for Xbox Cloud Gaming in beta: players can now stream their own games that they have in their Xbox library. This includes titles compatible with the service, whether purchased or from Game Pass. This feature expands access to games on various devices via the cloud such as a connected TV, web browser, smartphone, PC or tablet.
It is therefore no longer necessary to wait for a game to be added to the Game Pass Ultimate subscription to play it in the cloud. Additionally, if it is removed from the subscription, it will remain playable in the cloud as long as it is in the player’s library. This new option, long promised by Xbox, was eagerly awaited by players.
To celebrate the occasion, Xbox is announcing 50 new titles coming soon to streaming. Among these 50 games, we find Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Assassin’s Creed Mirage or even The Witcher 3: WildHunt – Complete Edition. Others will follow in the coming months.
