Xiaomi has been testing Android 16 on its smartphones for a few weeks now, and while its implementation won’t begin until the end of the year, we already know which models will be the first to be updated, incorporating a wide variety of new features, either through HyperOS 2 or HyperOS 3.
Android 16 aims to be one of the latest Android versions with the most new features, starting with a new dynamic notification system, similar in part to that of the iPhone, as well as a higher level of security and privacy.
Additionally, Android 16 will feature significant improvements in video recording with the addition of new, more optimized codecs. Added to this are improvements to battery management and minor interface changes that we’ll see very soon through HyperOS 2 and even, practically in December, alongside HyperOS 3.
Xiaomi reveals which smartphones will be the first to receive Android 16
Everything indicates that Xiaomi is looking to roll out Android 16 to its smartphones as soon as possible. In recent weeks, various versions based on this new system have been appearing on the company’s internal servers, suggesting that Xiaomi will roll out Android 16 to its smartphones from day one of launch.
While we learned a few days ago which models would be the first to be updated to Android 16, today Xiaomi has released new preview updates to its servers for more than 10 different devices. This suggests that they will be among the first to be updated:

- Xiaomi MIX FLIP
- Xiaomi 15
- Xiaomi 15 Pro
- Xiaomi 15 Ultra
- POCO F7 Ultra
- Xiaomi 13T Pro
- Redmi K60 Ultra
- Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro
- Redmi K70 Ultra
- Xiaomi 14T Pro
These will be among the first to be updated to Android 16 once its rollout begins. Furthermore, Android 16 is expected to be very well-received, meaning it will reach a wide range of smartphones. Remember that these are all the models that have already been confirmed to arrive:
