More than 29 million homes or offices already have access to internet through fiber in Spain, so the next step for operators was to make that connection reaches every corner of every home to hire the service.
The way to do this is by installing second equipment in the home that repeats the WiFi signal throughout all the rooms of the home. The first generation promoted by operators was the creation of wirelessly connected mesh networks, and for the second generation it has arrived FTTR, which brings the fiber directly to the WiFi repeater.
Euskaltel’s most advanced fiber for 10 euros more per month
After Movistar, Masorange is the second operator that offers FTTR commercially, but in the end it has not been through brands that had shown interest in offering it, such as Orange or MásMóvil, but rather it has been Euskaltel the first brand to market ‘the most advanced fiber in the world‘.
Euskaltel offers a solution that responds to the demand for maximum connectivity in all rooms to be able to study, work, play online, watch series or movies in Full HD and without weak WiFi coverage points and with all the potential of the contracted speed. However, it cannot be installed outdoors.
The facility Fiber FTTR is carried out through specialized installers and will be completely free. Without the need for work at home, a thin transparent fiber cable is installed so thin that it is practically invisible and adheres to any surface without affecting the aesthetics.
This cable connects one or more 6 secondary WiFi access points distributed throughout the house and thus guarantees maximum speed, quality and continuity of the signal in all rooms. Additionally, in the rooms where you extend the FTTR Fiber you will also have two ethernet ports to connect any type of device.
With Euskaltel, we already have another price reference for the service in Spain. In Euskaltel you save the registration fee of each additional router, valued at about 100 euros by Movistar, but in exchange, you agree to keep the service active for at least 12 month stay with the first additional router, but not with the rest that you can add as needed.
The monthly cost of Euskaltel’s FTTR represents an additional fee to your fiber (or fiber + mobile) service. 10 euros a month for the first additional router, and 5 euros more for the rest of the additional routers that you need to install.
