Honor pokes fun at Huawei and the lack of Google apps on its smartphones

On social networks, it seems that the manufacturer Honor has sent a small spade to its former parent company Huawei about Google applications, which are still absent from the Chinese giant’s smartphones.

For years, Honor and Huawei have worked hand in hand, with the Chinese giant using the company as a brand to launch affordable smartphones. However, after the US sanctions came into effect, Huawei has decided to sell Honor to a group of Chinese technology companies.

This decision allowed Honor to establish partnerships with American companies and restore access to Google applications for new devices. These phones were also equipped with 5G chips and all the technologies prohibited under the direction of Huawei. While one might think that the agreement between the two companies remained cordial, a new tweet from Honor may well indicate otherwise.

Honor takes on Huawei over Google apps

A few days ago, Huawei launched with great fanfare in Europe new flagship devices, the Huawei P60 Pro and the Mate X3, which did not fail to attract the attention of its competitors. As a reminder, these smartphones are not very recent, since the Chinese manufacturer had already formalized them more than a month ago in China. Moreover, the P60 Pro is positioned at the top of the DXOMARK photo ranking, a place which was occupied a few months ago by Honor’s Magic 5 Pro.

In response to the launch, Honor recently shared a post on Twitter promoting its latest flagship, the Magic 5 Pro, to consumers around the world. However, the promotion strategy is interesting because it boasts the inclusion of Google apps, designed for Androidrather than highlighting specific features of the phone.

It’s normal for phone makers to shoot each other in the paws, but it seems Honor is blaming Huawei for not offering Google apps with its latest device. It remains to be seen how Huawei will react to this small provocation.and whether the P60 Pro is able to appeal to European consumers even without Google apps.
