Every year, Apple is faced with the same difficulty during the summer period: iPhone sales are decreasing and are clearly worse than in the first and second quarters. These results make sense, as the next generation of iPhones are set to release in the fall and consumers (for the most part) either want to wait to see the features of the new models or grab one of the cheaper iPhone 13s. Fortunately for Apple, this year, things are not going as usual!
The iPhone 13 stay the course, despite the announcement of the iPhone 14 to come in 2 months
According to a recent Reuters report, the entire iPhone 13 line (except the mini model) continues to sell out at great speed in this month of July. As we are in the holiday period and approaching the launch of a new generation of iPhone, the demand don’t go down when compared to previous years over the same period.
A large number of consumers continue to place orders on the Apple Store online, at retailers or in stores to acquire one of the iPhone 13s.
To present this in statistical form, the sources behind this revelation estimate that iPhone 13 sales since July 1 are 33% better than iPhone 12 sales in July 2021. Of course, the month is not over yet, but there is no reason for the trend to reverse!
According to the same indiscretions, the situation would be far from being the same among Apple’s competitors, we think in particular of Samsung or Xiaomi, several popular manufacturers “start to take a hit” noting a collapse in sales of their smartphones since the end of June.
On July 28, 2022, Apple will announce its financial results, Wall Street analysts expect a drop in revenue from the “iPhone” segment, even if the information from Asian partners is positive.
Analyst firm Cowen predicts iPhone will outperform competitors, but iPhone shipments are expected to decline by 1% during the quarter just ended.
