We are getting closer to having iOS 26.1 officially. The fourth beta of iOS 26.1 It is now available for developers, which means that we could soon have a final version and launch for the general public, with quite a few new features compared to the current one.
Today, we are going to get to know all of them, and although they are not fixed, because as we said, it is a beta, and everything can change, it is true that it will be very similar to what we will end up testing, so it is a way to get to know it before doing so.
What's new iOS 26.1 beta 4
The fourth beta of iOS 26.1 brings several interesting new features. One of the most visible is a new setting for Liquid Glass transparency. In Settings – Screen and brightness you can now choose between the usual transparent style (Clear) or a more opaque and contrasting one (Tinted).
Also added an option to disable the swipe gesture to the camera from the locked screen. If you prefer that your iPhone not open the camera without unlocking it, you can go to Settings – Camera – Slide to open camera on locked screen and turn it off.
A message appears in the Phone app new switch that allows you to remove vibration when a call connects or hangs up. It's a small detail, but it gives more control over the experience when using the device.
Besides, Apple Intelligence section in Settings now has a left-aligned layoutjust like other parts of the system. Apple also removed the Beta label from that section, although it's still unclear if the change means the feature is no longer in testing or if it's just a visual tweak.
In summary, iOS 26.1 beta 4 does not change several system options, whether visual or functional, improving these aspects, as it offers more control over the interface, more polished visual settings and options that increase security and customization. If you are testing the beta versions, it is worth upgrading to notice these improvements, however, as we always say, if you do not have a secondary iPhone, We do not recommend its installation, as it could contain errors and give you problems, so it is best to wait for the official departure.
Little by little, iOS 26.1 is showing the direction that Apple wants to follow. There are no big leaps, but there is a clear intention to polish what already works and make it feel more comfortable. Every small adjustment is noticeable in daily use: everything responds more smoothly and consistently. The general feeling is that the system moves more fluidly and easily. If this beta is a clue of what is to come, the final version could become one of those updates that, without making a noise, end up making a real difference in everyday life, and there is still a long way to go until iOS 26.4, the version that, in principle, will change everything we know about this system, with much more important improvements.
And you, what do you think of this beta, do you think it brings enough changes, or do you see it as a bit short? Leave us a comment with your opinion.
