16Player is a new tweak available on the Chariz repo for our jailbroken iPhones and iPads. It is developed by two developers named tesla_man and Bibi Fire. The goal of 16Player is to bring Apple’s excellent lockscreen media player to older versions of iOS 14 and iOS 15, but also to improve it with a bunch of customizations.

With iOS 16, Apple has completely overhauled the “Reading Now” interface, which is already a good reason to update your device. But those who can’t, or don’t want to, still have the option to have it by staying on a jailbroken device running iOS 14 or 15.
Not only does 16Player bring the music player to earlier versions of iOS, it goes further with a ton of customization options. Here are some of 16Player’s best tweaks:

- Enlarge the size of the illustration

- Change the artwork’s roundness, shadow, opacity and more

- Configure player gestures (left, right, up and down)

- Configure button background color, foreground color, and haptic feedback effects

- Adjust the color of the timeline

These are just a few examples of the possibilities of 16Player, a tweak that has the good taste to work in portrait/landscape and to adapt according to the device (button, notch, etc.).
Bringing something new from Apple to older devices is always a good idea, but improving it with various options is even better. And as if that wasn’t enough, the developers note in the tweak’s description that they are open to feature requests.
