Waiting for the New Siri I get to our lives, being much smarter and resolutive, for 7 years, most users use this assistant for the same, and today we will see what are those questions that we have all asked ever.

We are close to seeing an evolution of this assistant, completely changing the type of questions we usually ask, but for now, while that happens, we have no choice but to take advantage of their functions, although not everyone uses it for the same thing, as we will see now.

What is most asked to Siri

Seven years have passed and, as Apple has promised “the new Siri” again and again, the reality of the day to day moves, we use the assistant for the usual. A Yougov report cited by Sherwood News and collected today reveals that the majority continues to limit themselves to basic tasks, the same as 2018. It is not that there are no advanced functions (which either many), but that most of us take advantage of it for simple and fast things. In the end, when you go in a hurry, you ask for time, you put music and continue with your life. Let's see what those tasks are in percentage of use by people:

  1. Consult time: 59 %
  2. Play music: 51 %
  3. Find an answer on the web: 47 %
  4. Timaders and alarms: 40 %
  5. Call at Hands Free: 39 %

The interesting fact is not only what we do, but what we do not do: almost no one talks about complex tasks, automate tasks between apps, etc. In part it is a matter of custom (the basic commands are recorded over fire) and in part of expectations, if the assistant fails once when you try something more complicated, you use it again for the basics, thinking that it will not get it or that you are wasting time. Here the “eternal wait” fits by the famous Siri jump, improvements are announced, they arrive with droppers, and the user, meanwhile, confirms that this assistant is not worth much more.

In the background, the problem is no longer only of technology, but of trust and how people discover those functions. To really change the way we use Siri, it is not enough for the assistant to be more powerful: it has to be reliable in the complicated and showing itself in a simple way, without forcing us to learn New commands OA give a thousand surroundings. While that does not happen, we will continue to pull the basics, the five usual uses.

And you, why do you use Siri? Do you have any more complex command other than those shown? Hopefully, when Apple presents the advanced AI, we can all talk to this assistant more naturally, and it is not always “I cannot or do not know how to do that”, since in the end we even forget that we have it there, because their help is not really effective, and we only say the famous phrase of “hey Siri”, when we want to know time, or some of the tasks mentioned before.
