Apple has announced via X that you can now pre-order the limited edition book Apple Music: 100 Best Albums for the modest sum of €450. You’re not dreaming, even a free one from Apple is worth its weight in gold.
A book at a golden price
This steep price is partly explained by its exclusivity: the luxury publisher Assouline only produced 1,500 copies, each with a hand-printed number. This hardcover book also features an “elegant translucent slipcase” and “gilt-edged pages.” » And at this price point, Assouline offers free shipping. Phew.
Here’s what makes this book a collector’s item:
Each book comes in a custom-made translucent acrylic slipcase, embossed with the Apple Music logo, while the linen cover is also embossed with the logo, perfectly aligned with the slipcase lettering. The back of the slipcase is engraved with the edition number, and inside the book, a hand-numbered bookplate further highlights the limited nature of this edition. The edges of the book’s pages are gilded, reflecting the title on the spine.
This 208-page book features a foreword by Apple Music 1 radio host Zane Lowe, followed by album artwork and details on each of the top 100 albums, according to the Apple Music rankings released earlier this year.
