Next month, Apple should hold a new event to unveil new iPads, but also new Macs with the famous ultra-powerful M4 chip. Information leaked last night about the next generation of Mac mini, we have some information like the fact that Apple should add more USB-C connectors!
5 USB-C ports
Apple may have leaked information about a new Mac mini model, through a change in the code of macOS 15, discovered in the latest update released last night. This intriguing new model, equipped with the latest Apple Silicon chip, would have five USB-C ports, according to the analysis of the code carried out by experts.
The leak, which was revealed by a piece of code that mentions a mysterious “Apple Silicon Mac mini (5 ports),” suggests that two of the five ports will be positioned on the front of the device and the rest on the back. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously confirmed that this upcoming Mac mini will likely feature Thunderbolt 4 ports using USB-C connectors, but didn’t provide specific details on what those ports will be.
A reduced size
The new Mac mini would also be remarkably compact, almost as small as an Apple TV, while offering high-level performance thanks to the M4 and M4 Pro processors. This model would break with the current version, released in January 2023, by abandoning USB-A ports, a choice that may not please all users.
Apple is rumored to unveil this Mac mini at its October event, alongside other devices including M4-powered Macs and a new iPad mini. If true, this new version of the Mac mini promises to offer impressive power and connectivity in an even smaller form factor.
