After the PC, the studio Shatterproof Games announced that its enchanting puzzle game, Aarik and The Ruined Kingdom, will be available on iOS and Android starting January 25. Here’s what you need to know about this charming low-poly puzzle that might take your mind off a certain Monument Valley.
Discover Aarik And The Ruined Kingdom
In “Aarik and The Ruined Kingdom,” you play as Prince Aarik on a family quest across a variety of landscapes such as castles, forests, deserts, swamps and tundra to find his mother. The game combines puzzle solving with a poignant (and upbeat) story, where you explore 35 unique levels filled with more puzzles.
Aarik’s main tool is his father’s magical crown, encrusted with four precious stones, which grants him the power to manipulate the environment. You can use this royal headband to spin, slide, grow puzzle elements, and even reverse time to solve complex puzzles and repair the kingdom’s broken paths.
As you can see in the video above, the game’s 3D graphics made in a low number of stylized polygons (reminiscent of a certain FF 7) and colorful are not only visually appealing, but are not reserved for recent devices. They are perfectly suited to the small screens of our mobile devices, even older models like the iPod Touch.
