It’s a case that made a lot of noise this weekend in the United States, the telecommunications giant Comcast announced its intention to separate from some of its best-known media properties. This includes CNBC and MSNBC, as well as other popular cable assets, which will be spun off from the conglomerate into a new company tentatively called SpinCo. The move will have the effect of moving these assets away from their original home, Comcast’s NBC broadcast network. And guess who has already expressed interest?

Elon Musk already on the MSNBC file?

This Friday, November 22, it was Donald Trump Jr who relayed the information on the X network, calling on his friend Elon Musk. “Hey Elon Musk, I have the funniest idea ever!” he indicated, to which Elon Musk immediately responded “How much does it cost?“. At the time, it was an Internet user who told Elon Musk that he could buy Twitter, to which the latter answered the same question.

Quickly, podcaster Joe Rogan joined the discussion thread: “If you buy MSNBC, I would like Rachael Maddow’s post. I’ll wear the same outfit and the same glasses, and I’ll tell the same lies“. A little dig at the MSNBC journalist, particularly hostile to the Trump administration.

On Elon Musk’s side, we obviously took advantage of the weekend to flood the X network with numerous publications and other more or less inspired memes concerning this possible upcoming acquisition, while reminding us that the taxes paid by Americans should not used to finance the lies propagated by the Comcast network.

In recent days, this same Elon Musk has wanted to return to the actions undertaken during the acquisition of Twitter. Still on his social network, the latter reacted to a meme indicating that the fact of having fired 90% of the workforce of feu-Twitter allowed the platform to “function better“. Elon Musk was keen to clarify: “80%. But the purpose remains exact“.

Remember that the same Elon Musk, boss of Tesla, X and Space Its function will be (among other things) to reduce state spending, and this should have an impact on civil servants, but also on certain funds allocated to certain organizations deemed too progressive.

However, don’t panic regarding MSNBC and CNBC, since Comcast made it clear that the two channels were not for sale. Also, SpinCo will manage MSNBC, CNBC and other cable networks, such as USA, E! and The Golf Network, while NBC News will remain directly under Comcast’s supervision.
