Elon Musk’s next project may be the creation of a video game studio. In any case, that’s what he announced in a publication on X. This accuses video game developers and specialized journalists of being “trapped” by their ideology.

“Too many game studios are owned by big companies”reacted Elon Musk, before announcing that xAI, his AI laboratory, will launch a video game studio based on artificial intelligence, in order to “make games great again!” (“make games great again!”, in English).

The announcement galvanized many people. But some wanted to remind Elon Musk that xAI can also be considered a “big company”.

xAI, already a giant in artificial intelligence

As a reminder, xAI is a competitor to OpenAI founded by Elon Musk in March 2023. And according to a recent article in the Wall Street Journal, following a fundraising, the valuation of this company would have increased to $50 billion. This AI lab has already developed a technology called Grok, which is capable of providing functionality similar to ChatGPT.

Currently, Grok is offered to Premium users of the social network X. In October, xAI also launched an API that allows developers to create new experiences based on its artificial intelligence. Furthermore, according to rumors, Elon Musk’s AI laboratory should launch a dedicated application in December, to compete with the ChatGPT and Gemini applications.

And now, this AI laboratory is also expected to use its technology to develop video games.
