With about two months until Christmas, Apple began running ads for the iPhone 16 to showcase new features and encourage customers to upgrade to the newer models. After the camera button ad, today’s new ad highlights exclusive 4K video recording at 120 frames per second with Dolby Vision, available only on the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.
A function for “Pros”
The one-minute spot features several slow-motion scenes, such as a windstorm, an astronaut in space, an arrow in flight, a car crash, and more. The ad ends with the tagline “Hollywood in your pocket.”
One of the most notable features of the iPhone 16 Pro models is the ability to capture slow-motion cinematic videos in 4K 120fps, a capability not found in the standard iPhone 16 models. Users also have the option to adjust the frame rate afterwards in the Photos app, with options of 60, 48, 30, or 24 frames per second during post-processing.
Other new features
In addition to the improved camera capabilities, the iPhone 16 Pro models feature several other improvements:
- A18 Pro Chip: The new chip improves performance and efficiency, especially for intensive tasks like gaming, video editing, and AI-driven applications.
- Support for WiFi 7: It offers faster and more reliable wireless connectivity, although Apple has limited its speed to 1.7 Gbps to preserve battery life.
- Thinner bezel: The screen has been optimized with thinner bezels, providing a more immersive viewing experience.
- Better battery life: Thanks to hardware and software improvements, the battery life of iPhone 16 Pro models is longer than previous generations.
- New camera button: dedicated to shooting, this button allows you to quickly open the camera and adjust various settings with a simple gesture.
These features further differentiate the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max from the standard iPhone 16 models, but not enough in our opinion to justify the price difference.
