This is the case of Resolution Games which has updated its excellent Game Room, an application for playing classic board games in augmented reality, superimposed on the real environment. Game Room adds a new game
It’s obviously not the future Resident Evil 2 Remake or the latest Assassin’s Creed Mirage, but with a very wide choice of classic board games, there is plenty to have fun in Game Room, even thousands of kilometers away. a friend for example.
The novelty is none other than Backgammon, whose origins date back to Antiquity, a game that combines luck and strategy, where players must remove their pieces from the board before their opponent. It has been played for six millennia in Asia Minor, where the oldest boards have been dated to 5,000 BC. This game is also known as “tric-trac”.
The basic rules of Backgammon:
- Backgammon is played on a board made up of 24 arrows, called points or boxes, arranged in alternating colors to make it easier to count moves. Each player has 15 pawns of a specific color which they move from one point to another according to the result of two dice.
- The game takes place between two players who attempt to bring all their pawns into their playing area called the “interior board”, then remove them from the board. The first player to remove his 15 pawns from the board wins the game.
