If you were wondering when the new iPhone SE 4 will launch, Apple may have just dropped a valuable clue. Long story short, the launch of the fourth generation could happen soon, or very soon.
A heralding change
As several developers have noticed, starting this week, there is no longer a need to upload screenshots taken from an iPhone SE with a home button. When submitting an app to Apple’s App Store, developers must follow specific guidelines to have their app approved, which can be found on a dedicated page.
Among the many requirements, there are screenshots illustrating the application for all target media. And, surprise, those for the 4.7-inch iPhone with home button are no longer required. Better, the tab has disappeared. We have noticed it on several accounts, including ours.
This undoubtedly makes us think that the refresh of Apple’s low-end model could arrive in the coming weeks. Rumors, which have been circulating for almost two years, suggest an iPhone SE 4 that would finally abandon the Home button in favor of a 6.1-inch 60 Hz OLED screen, similar to that of the iPhone 14 with Face ID in a notch. Enough to standardize the range with phones all equipped with the same technologies and a classic 6.1-inch diagonal, like the standard iPhone 16 for example.
In addition to the display, a USB-C port is expected to replace the Lightning port, which must be removed by December 28 at the latest in order to be sold in the European Union.
On the photo side, the device would remain with a single lens, but largely improved. Some speak of a 48 megapixel sensor, nothing has been really confirmed on this point.
Finally, it is said that the Action button, introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro and present on all iPhone 16 models, would also be integrated into the iPhone SE 4. As for the very latest Camera button, this seems unlikely to us.
