The Story of Margo’s Got Money Troubles
Elle Fanning will play Margo Millet, the daughter of a Hooters waitress and a former professional wrestler, who always knew she would have to fend for herself. So she enrolls in a local community college, even though she has no idea how she will make a living. In the midst of searching for her future, she hadn’t planned on having an affair with her English teacher – a brief affair, but not long enough to prevent her from getting pregnant. Despite the advice of those around her, she decides to keep the baby, out of naivety and a desire for something bigger.
Now, at 20, Margo is alone with a baby, unemployed, and on the verge of eviction. She needs money fast. When her estranged father, Jinx, shows up at her door asking to move in with her, she agrees in exchange for help babysitting. Margo comes up with a plan: she decides to start an OnlyFans account as an experiment, and quickly discovers she can apply some of her father’s wrestling tips, like how to create a compelling persona and get audiences to root for her. Soon, she turns it into a runaway success. Is this the solution to all of Margo’s problems, or does internet fame come at too high a price?
