Autumn at Apple is never calm, and this year 2024 was no exception to the rule. If there have been many new products, with the iPhone 16, the Apple Watch 10, the iPad mini 7 or even the Mac M4s including the excellent Mac mini M4, the firm has also discontinued several models. However, savvy shoppers can still score great deals on these latest items from third-party sellers.
1. iPad mini 6
The new iPad mini 7 is equipped with improvements such as support for Apple Intelligence (we are still waiting for it in France) and compatibility with the Apple Pencil Pro, not to mention the correction of the jerky scrolling problem of its predecessor. For those who don’t need the latest features, the iPad mini 6 can still be found for €549 on Amazon.
2. MacBook Pro M3
With the introduction of the M4 series MacBook Pros, the M3 models saw a drop in prices. One notable offering includes the base model MacBook Air M3 for €1,299 on Amazon with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of SSD, more than €200 reduction.
3. Mac mini M2
The 2024 Mac mini has undergone a significant redesign with a smaller form factor, new I/O placement, and advanced M4/M4 Pro chips. While the new Mac mini M4 starts strong with 16 GB of RAM at €699, the M4 Pro version is €1000 more expensive. Between the two, we find the very powerful Mac mini M2 Pro €1,289 instead of €1,599 on Amazon.
4. iMac M3
The iMac update to the M4 brought new features like more Thunderbolt ports and Center Stage, for a starting price of €1,499, or €100 less. There’s no better deal on the M3 iMac.
5. iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max
As tradition dictates, the flagship models were discontinued with the launch of the iPhone 16 series. However, the latest stocks on these Apple Intelligence compatible phones allow you to have for example an iPhone 15 Pro with 1 TB of storage at €1,499 on Amazon. The differences between the iPhone 16 Pro are slight, to say the least.
6. iPhone 13
Launched in 2021, this model brought improvements in battery life and camera technology. Although it’s discontinued, you can still buy a new iPhone 13 at €500 onlywhich is cheaper than an iPhone SE without Face ID or OLED screen.
7. Apple Watch Series 9
With the release of Series 10, Series 9 was logically abandoned. Deals exist, but since the Series 10 is similarly priced, it might be worth considering the new model directly.
8. AirPods 2/3
The move to USB-C has also affected AirPods. The AirPods 4, with or without noise cancellation, are offered at attractive prices of €149 and €199 respectively, which makes you forget the older models, the AirPods 2 and AirPods 3. However, the AirPods 2 remain available at €99 only !
9. Mac Accessories with Lightning Port
The move to USB-C marked the end of the Lightning versions of the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard. Offers on these accessories exist, such as the Apple keyboard for €92 on Amazon.
10. FineWoven iPhone Cases
Launched as an eco-friendly alternative to leather, these iPhone 15 cases have been criticized for being susceptible to scratches. Now discontinued for iPhone 16 models, FineWoven iPhone 15 cases are available at discounted prices.
