According to MacRumors ‘ site traffic logs, the Cupertino company is already on the verge of releasing a new iOS 18.4. 1 update for iPhones. The update could arrive in the next two weeks, or perhaps a little earlier, assuming iOS 18.4 was released on March 31st.

A minor but necessary update, what could it include?

This update may not have any visual updates as it’s an early extension of iOS 18.4. Apple likely needs to fix software bugs or any vulnerabilities found that could compromise the security of Apple’s mobile operating system. For that same reason, there won’t be a developer or public beta; in these cases, there has never been a beta for an extensible iOS update.

What’s surprising is that it will be a pre-update to iOS 18.5, which is already in betaThis latest iOS beta hasn’t yet had any major updates, considering only minor changes have been detected in the Mail and Settings apps.

If Apple doesn’t have any setbacks, iOS 18.4.1 could be released sometime next week, sometime in the evening, CST in Spain. As soon as it’s released, we’ll be sharing all the details. As with any update of this type, we recommend updating immediately or as soon as possible, as this will obviously be a version that will address security issues.

Apple has double the work to do from this point on.

As for software, the Cupertino company will already be finalizing details for the first betas of the new operating systems it will show the world at WWDC 2025. The main event will take place on June 9 at Apple Park, with a broadcast of a previously recorded event.

iOS 19, macOS 16, watchOS 12, tvOS 19, visionOS 3, and a few other unexpected announcements await us in a few more months, so iOS 18 will be entering a phase of decline in terms of development. How many more versions of iOS 18 await us after iOS 18.4.1 and iOS 18.5?
