It’s Sunday, it’s rumor day. Ming-Chi Kuo tells us about a Vision Pro with M5 chip from 2025 while Mark Guman continues to give us hope for connected glasses by Apple.
Vision Pro 2: boosted M5 chip, but still just as expensive
According to secret information from Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is preparing a new model for its mixed reality headset which should be released next year. A second generation Vision Pro boosted by the M5 chip expected for the end of 2025. The current Vision Pro, released in early 2024, is powered by the M2.
A tenfold increase in power even if we will have to hope that this M5, thanks to its efficiency, allows the Vision Pro 2 to last longer on battery. This is currently one of the major flaws of the device. Kuo doesn’t mention new features, although we imagine that Apple has a few ideas in mind.
Tim Cook recently mentioned it in an interview, the Vision Pro is a niche product aimed at those who want the technology of tomorrow right away. This new version should therefore remain at a high price, while waiting for a cheaper model by 2027 at best. No point hoping for a price halved around €2000, the price of the components does not allow it.
As I understand it, production of the cheaper Vision Pro has been delayed beyond 2027 for a while now. This means Apple’s only new head-mounted display device in 2025 will be the Vision Pro with an upgraded M5 processor.
I think what really drove Apple to delay the cheaper…

Apple Glass: one day, maybe
On Gurman’s side, we once again raise the subject of connected glasses. According to him, Apple intends to one day release glasses connected to the iPhone. A long-standing project for a technology still not ready at present.
Connected glasses would allow you to watch films, mirror your iPhone screen and communicate with Siri (and chatGPT) via Apple Intelligence about the world around us. A much more pleasant format to wear during a long session and above all much lighter for outdoor use. Gurman does not indicate a date, as the project could, like so many others, end up being abandoned because it was deemed unfeasible.
