Although, due to costs and ease, Apple used China as the assembler of its products, political tension and increased costs have meant that the most valuable company in the world has decided to move countries, and now it will be this other country that will be in charge, at least, of the Vision Pro.

This may mark the beginning of a change, and it may not only be this product, but many others will come after it, finally ensuring that everyone devices leave China and begin manufacturing and assembly elsewhere in the world.

New Apple factory for the Vision Pro

Apple has started manufacturing its mixed reality viewer, the Apple Vision Pro, in Vietnam. Before, everything was made in China, but now the company wants to distribute production and not depend so much on a single country. This does not mean that they will stop manufacturing in China (at least for now), but it does mean that they now have another option to keep production stable.

The new Vision Pro model brings the M5 chip and a double fabric band that promises to be more comfortable for long sessions. It will be one of the first Apple devices assembled entirely in Vietnam. The company already produces some iPads, Apple Watch and AirPods there, so it is not the first time they have trusted that country, but it is the first time with such a high-end and visible product.

This change also has a lot to do with the global context. With the trade tensions between the United States and China and the logistics problems of recent years, Apple seeks to avoid depending too much on one place. Having factories in different countries helps so that, if something fails at one site, production can continue without major delays.

Vietnam It has become a key location for the company. It offers skilled workers, reasonable costs, and is well located within Asia. In addition to Vision Pro, Apple plans to manufacture there home security cameras, smart displays and even a small desktop robot. All of this shows that the company is taking advantage of the country for several new products, not just one device.

Simply put, moving production of the Vision Pro to Vietnam is not just a question of numbers or logistics, but a way to have more flexibility. Apple can adapt more quickly to market changes, avoid problems if something happens in another part of the world and, at the same time, test new manufacturing lines in a country that increasingly has more weight in its strategy.

For now we will see if they continue moving everything to this country, or continue diversifying in others. The point is that the Vision Pro will be made there, and its cost will depend, in part, on that. Therefore, if they go well, other products may, as we said, begin to be exclusive to Vietnam, leaving aside China, a country that does not get along very well with the North American continent.

And you, what do you think about this? Do you care where a product is manufactured, or as long as it is cheaper, do you care? Leave us a comment with your opinion.
