Apple and Shazam have a strong relationship, which was cemented when the Cupertino company acquired the app in 2018. This has led to some interesting integrations with Apple Music. The new feature this time is a playlist that will gather daily data from Shazam users , called “Viral Hits.” This is what the new playlist for Apple’s streaming service will be about.

A new playlist powered by Shazam will show you the viral songs of the moment.

The top 50 songs discovered over a 24-hour period will be included, so the new music never runs out. You can check it out online, but you can also find it on Apple Music as a playlist. According to the text in the introduction, the viral list will not only track those songs that are hitting TikTok but will also add to “the whole spectrum of songs that are hitting right now” anywhere you can imagine. Any song that’s streaming, on TV, or some hits that have resurfaced in certain places will be included in the new playlist, identified by millions of users who have pressed the Shazam button.

Don’t forget to add your own Shazam discoveries to Apple Music.

In the Shazam app, you can sync your Apple Music (or Spotify) account to create a personalized playlist of all your discoveries . It’s as simple as accessing the settings menu, enabling streaming connection with either app, and then clicking the song sync button.

This way, you can create a single list where all your discoveries will be found without having to log into Shazam every time you need to make a search. In 2022, a playlist was created celebrating Shazam’s 20th anniversary, revealing the most Shazamed songs in history. These compilations were undoubtedly important in making us realize that it’s an interesting app to use. The important milestone was announced at the end of 2024: Shazam has now recognized 100 billion songs.

Now, with a list that will be updated daily, we’ll realize the influence Shazam has on our daily lives, how important the music we surround ourselves with is, and what we can identify with to make it go viral. That’s the ultimate goal of this new playlist. What do you think of this new Shazam playlist? Do you think there’s anything else they could consider adding beyond this list?
