We often tend to underestimate the potential of the Apple Podcasts application, yet the app provides a ton of interesting podcasts on many topics with interesting features such as transcriptions. Indeed, compared to some of its competitors, Apple allows you to listen to a podcast, but also to… read it! A great feature that allows you to follow a podcast when you don’t have your headphones nearby or for people hearing impaired.
Apple Podcasts adds new languages for transcription
Since iOS 17.4, Apple Podcasts users in France can enjoy transcribing episodes of their favorite podcasts. To access it, it’s simple, just launch a podcast then press the “…” which are on the player, users then have “Show transcription”. As soon as you press here, the entire podcast appears in writing!
According to a recent report from the Dutch site iCultureApple has decided to take this feature to the next level by introducing support for new languages.
Starting today, the following languages are available for the “View Transcript” feature. If you speak one of these languages, you will be able to enjoy them on podcasts in that same language:
- Danish
- Brazilian Portuguese
- Finnish
- Italian
- Norwegian
- Dutch
- Portuguese
- Swedish
Of course, it is necessary to have the iOS 18 update on your iPhone, because otherwise you will not be able to take advantage of it. This feature also exists on Spotify’s podcast side, the streaming service also supports the majority of these languages.
