If you have noticed some bugs on your iPhone since installing the iOS 18 update, rest assured, they will be fixed soon. Apple is currently working on the development of a corrective update intended to be released during the month of October. You will not find anything new, but a much better performance for your iPhone with bug fixes and security flaws.
iOS 18.0.1 is coming
Apple is currently in the internal testing phase to release iOS 18.0.1 to compatible iPhones soon. This update is mainly aimed at fixing bugs and improving the general stability of the system, without introducing any major new features. The Cupertino company is thoroughly testing this version on all iPhones before deploying it, to ensure that it does not cause new problems, particularly in terms of stability or autonomy.
Signs of this update have been spotted by MacRumorsThe American media outlet has detected several connections from iPhones with iOS 18.0.1 on its site, probably coming directly from Apple Park, where testing is underway.
According to initial information, iOS 18.0.1 should fix a few well-identified issues:
- Touchscreen issues: Some models of the iPhone 16 lineup, as well as older iPhones, have reported issues with touchscreen responsiveness. While the issue is limited to a small number of users, Apple is looking to eliminate it quickly.
- iMessage bug with Apple Watch: Another bug, affecting iMessage, causes crashes when users try to share an Apple Watch face. This issue, while isolated, impacts enough users to warrant a fix.
The update is expected to be available by the end of next week, provided internal testing goes smoothly. Users can therefore expect a gradual improvement to their iOS experience as soon as iOS 18.0.1 rolls out.
Finally, after this corrective update, Apple will launch iOS 18.1, which will bring the first major new features presented at WWDC 2024, with more ambitious features. For this update, we will have to wait until the end of October, at the latest at the beginning of November.
