Apple TV+ has announced the upcoming addition of “Lucky” to its catalog of original series. This episodic drama will star Anya Taylor-Joy, famous for her roles in ‘The Queen’s Gambit’, ‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’, who will take on both lead and producer roles executive. The series is inspired by the New York Times bestselling novel by Marissa Stapley and the selection of Reese’s Book Club.
A promising series
In “Lucky,” Taylor-Joy plays a character who has moved away from her criminal past but is forced to return to her old habits in an attempt to free herself from them. The series is produced by Hello Sunshine, Reese Witherspoon’s production company, known for promoting female-focused narratives.

Jonathan Tropper, known for “See” and “Your Friends & Neighbors,” co-showrunner, will write and executive produce the series with Cassie Pappas, who worked on “Silo” and “Griselda,” joining him in the role.
“Lucky” continues Apple TV+’s collaboration with Hello Sunshine, following hits like “The Morning Show” and “The Last Thing He Told Me.” This project also marks a new adventure for Taylor-Joy with Apple TV+, following her participation in the upcoming film “The Gorge”.
