According to a new rumor published on weibo, the fourth generation iPhone SE will ultimately be called iPhone 16E. Information to be taken with a lot of perspective, but which makes sense. This new iPhone is expected at the beginning of next year.
Rumor of the month
In recent months, rumors have been multiplying around the next iPhone SE. Apple’s most affordable smartphone is expected to get a new design in 2025, with the introduction of the notch, finally leaving the wide bezels behind.
But that’s not all. To celebrate this new look, Apple could also change its name. According to information from the leaker Fixed Focus Digital, iPhone SE could become iPhone 16E. A rumor to be taken with caution, especially since reputable sources like Mark Gurman and Ming-Chi Kuo have not yet confirmed it.
By doing so, Apple could harmonize its range and strengthen the marketing weight of this iPhone by assigning it a number associated with the most recent models. A strategy reminiscent of Samsung in 2019, when they launched the Galaxy S10e after the Galaxy S10, S10+ and S10 5G.
As a reminder, the iPhone SE of 2025 should have a 6.1-inch screen with notch and edge-to-edge design, Face ID, A17 (or A18) chip, an improved photo module , 5G connectivity with in-house chip, Wi-Fi 6E and, of course, a USB-C port.
If all these new features materialize, the iPhone 16E would then be much superior to its predecessor, the iPhone SE 3 released in March 2022. However, let’s hope that Apple maintains an affordable price, without getting too close to that of the iPhone 16. We can’t wait to see how Apple can make this iPhone attractive without blowing up the price.
