Stronger than the announcement of the new MacBook Pro M4, the Cyberpunk 2077 game is officially planned for Apple computers.
During a pseudo keynote, Apple announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will be one of the next AAA titles to be released on the new M4 MacBook Pros, alongside other recent games like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Resident Evil 2, which are also expected to arrive on macOS before the end of the year.
Cyberpunk 2077 arrives at Apple
In its nearly 17-minute video, the firm detailed the new MacBook Pro M4 in great detail, notably highlighting the gaming capabilities on these machines. The video revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to arrive on Mac at the beginning of 2025, enough to attract demanding gamers.
Apple explains that the new 2024 MacBook Pros are designed to offer an immersive gaming experience, especially for a title as visually demanding as Cyberpunk 2077. After a poor start, the fault of numerous bugs, the open world action game from CD PROJEKT RED wowed the gallery with incredible graphics and level design, integrating advanced graphics features such as path tracing, spatial audio and the generation of frames per secondwithout forgetting the well-known ray-tracing. Enough to bring vivid environments and characters to life in the city dystopian Night City.
Note also that image generation (frame generation) is currently not part of the graphics API MetalFX.
It remains to be seen on which Macs? The publisher confirmed a release on Mac Apple Silicon, without specifying the models. We know that only the M3 and M4 chips support ray-tracing, but it would not be surprising if the Max models had exclusivity. In any case, it’s a nice move from Apple, which proves that you no longer need to buy a GeForce graphics card to play on a computer.
