Currently, there are many streaming platformsand that makes the competition so high, that many of them have to be associated, trying to survive, and thus giving the user more options within it, which is interesting.

We have already seen it even with Prime and Apple TV, although we have to pay both subscriptions, something that we do not like so much, and that, although it is more comfortable, it does not improve much. However, Disney+ He wanted to do something different, although similar, with Hulu and ESPN.

Hulu and ESPN will be inside Disney+ in iOS

Disney is preparing an important update of its application to see series, movies and sport is much simpler. The idea is to remove the annoying jumps between apps. Imagine Open Disney+ and find recommendations that mix Hulu and ESPN content without having to change their application.

The interface will receive a face washing, because the starting screens will have cleaner carousels, dynamic advances that let you see what something is going in in seconds and a more ready search to understand what you are looking for. In Apple TV (and iOS) they will take advantage of visual effects and new gestures so that navigation feels more fluid and modern, so they will not only have the aforementioned update, since they will also take advantage so that everything looks better.

Not everything is appearance, because they also want suggestions to be more personal, combining shows, movies and sporting events according to your tastes (something they already did, but with less intelligence). Of course, here the usual challenge appears, how to do it without liating it with privacy, and to maintain compatibility on older televisions and devices. Although this may be the user's choice, in case we do not want it to happen.

Apple and Disney logo with a heart

Behind everything there is a clear commercial logic, if you get people to find what they want without fighting with several apps, it is easier to stay. In addition, in a market where Netflix and Prime do not stop moving, having an integrated ecosystem can be a real competitive advantage, because offers much more catalogin the same place, and that movie that is not from Disney and that the recommendations suggest you, can make you end up staying, when you would not do it for not finding anything interesting.

In summary: the idea is to do everything easier, with a prettier app and understand you better. If Disney may mark the way and the other platforms begin to copy this style of integrating everything into a single place, although it is something that we have already seen in others, but not so “abrupt”, so they will be the referents, it will go well, or bad.

And you, are you one of those who prefer that each company have their films and series separated from the rest, or do you like the idea that there were one with all available, and, that according to your subscriptions, could you see more or less, without having to leave the application?
