Eldgear is a new retro strategy role-playing game (SRPG), now available for pre-order on iOS and Android. Developed by Kemco (like the recent Dragon Takers), this tactical adventure immerses players in the rich fantasy world of Argenia, a land on the verge of transitioning from its medieval past into an era defined by magic. Hundreds of nations populate Argenia, and you’ll need to navigate this vast world while honing your tactical skills in turn-based battles.

If the spirit resembles the best tactical RPGs of the genre like FF Factics or Fire Emblem with turn-based combat, Eldgear stands out for its customizable game mechanics. Players can experience two key systems: EMA (Embedding Abilities) and EXA (Expanding Abilities), which allow you to create a unique and, above all, effective style of play. These systems offer a multitude of strategic possibilities, from devastating area attacks that eliminate groups of enemies to rapid, individual strikes designed to surprise. You can also master powerful combo attacks, coordinated with precise timing, that transform into super special moves capable of turning the tide of battle.
The pixel art graphics, inspired by SNES games, as well as the distinctive animations, reinforce the nostalgic charm of the game, which will particularly appeal to fans of classic SRPGs. iPhone obliges, the effects are more elaborate, with sometimes spectacular results during the games.
Eldgear’s story takes place in Argenia, where magic is awakening, and you will have to choose how to shape the future of this world, while exploring it. The battles you fight will be as much about strategy as adaptation to the evolving magical civilization that will define Argenia’s future.
