Gigabull, a space shooter with a decidedly retro style, has just received an update, the perfect opportunity to discover its immersive musical universe. Inspired by the band of the same name, the game was released at the same time as the first album, Ox Sendwith an original idea: each song on the album corresponds to a level of the game. In all, there are ten pieces that you will have to go through eventually.
Gigabull combines games and music
The pitch of the adventure is as follows: Gigabull is a notorious horned villain who stole ten sacred USB sticks, each containing a song from the album. The player’s mission is simple: collect these ten keys, piece together the musical puzzle and restore cosmic harmony.
You, a GNAR (Gigabull Nebula Attack Reserve) pilot, must navigate through beautifully realized pixelated environments, filled with waves of enemies and boss fights, all punctuated by the original soundtrack of Gigabull. With each level, you unlock new ships, gain abilities, and dive deeper into the “Gigaverse,” discovering the narrative that connects each piece.
The concept of Gigabull takes root in the group’s history. Formed in 2019 by Grayson Erhard, Tyler Lindgren and Chris Beeble, the group was born from a jam session that brought to life their debut track, “Just The TRS.” Erhard and Lindgren then recruited Beeble, who brought his touch as bassist and mixing engineer, helping the band merge music and video games.
It’s certainly not the most beautiful, but its approach and its music are worth the detour!
