The Iliad group, parent company of Free, has excellent reasons to rejoice. It now has 50.2 million subscribers in France, Italy and Poland. Enough to consolidate its status as the fifth European operator and “leader in revenue growth”. Let’s take stock.
An excellent third trimester
Regarding the last three months, Iliad has recruited “131,000 net new Mobile subscribers (186,000 on 4G/5G packages), 25,000 net new Broadband and Very High Speed subscribers and 137,000 new fiber subscribers”specifies the company in a press release.
Xavier Niel’s company stood out in particular by offering 5G SA on a national scale. Enough to ensure improved performance for its customers.
A very strong year 2024
Concerning the first three quarters, Iliad also posted turnover up 9.7% to 7.45 billion euros. Its ambition is to go even higher by the end of 2024.
As for its gross operating surplus after rent (Ebitdaal), an indicator commonly used to assess the profitability of a company, it totals 2.89 billion euros over the first nine months of the year, an increase of 13.6% compared to 2023.
These figures are therefore enough to satisfy Thomas Reynaud, general manager of the Iliad group, who comments:
These solid third quarter results, combining strong growth and improved economic performance, demonstrate the strength of our brands, the impact of our innovations and the efficiency of our operations. Despite increased competition, we continue to gain market share in each of our geographies and we confirm our objective of reaching a turnover of 10 billion euros in 2024.
Note that Xaviel Niel’s company, however, has a big rock in its path. Indeed, Free is currently paying the price for a data leak which impacted several million customers.
