While some French MPs hope to tax streaming services which take up a good third of the bandwidth, the operator Free is increasing the data envelope of its package to €19.99/month. Customers gain 50 GB, at no additional cost. What also puts a blow to the competition.
50 GB more free
In a press releasethe operator announces that the data envelope is increasing from 300 GB to 350 GB per month, at no additional cost to customers. This is the second time this year that Xavier Niel’s company has offered more for the same price. And since its launch this is even the 8th time. However, the price remains at €19.99 on the Free Mobile website.
This increase in the Internet envelope is effective today for users of the Free 5G Package, whether they are already subscribers or new. This development applies automatically and at no additional cost.
Free also recalls that in January 2022, it made a commitment not to change the prices of its two mobile plans (€19.99/month and €2/month) until 2027.
In addition, subscribers to the Free 5G Package benefit from Free Family benefits if they are a Freebox subscriber:
- unlimited 5G/4G internet in mainland France instead of 350 GB for non-Freebox subscribers;
- up to 4 Free 5G Plans with unlimited 5G/4G internet in mainland France at €9.99/month for 1 year then €15.99/month (instead of €19.99/month).
- Abroad, subscribers to the Free 5G Package benefit from 35 GB/month of Internet included from more than 110 destinations.
Note that those who have a Freebox do not even have a DATA limit. They can go well beyond 350 GB.
Since the start of the school year, not a week has gone by without an offer. Last time it was SFR with 200 GB for €9.99. Just before, it was Bouygues with 110 GB for €7.99.
For you, is the number of gigabytes an argument when subscribing to a package?
