The ecological bonus of 4,000 euros remains a major lever to accelerate the transition to electric mobility in France. Since 2024, the rules have evolved with the introduction of an eco-score, which takes into account the total carbon footprint of the vehicle, from its manufacture to its delivery.
New models are entering the system
The big news for November 2024 is the arrival of the Fiat Grande Panda in the very exclusive club of eligible vehicles. This cousin of the Citroën ë-C3 enriches the range of affordable electric city cars. The Ford Capri also makes its notable debut with a complete range of engines ranging from 204 to 340 horsepower. On the French side, the Opel Grandland and the Peugeot e-408 also join the list of vehicles allowing to benefit from the financial boost from the State.
Historic manufacturers are strengthening their presence
The Audi Q4 confirms its eligibility with new approved versions. A strong signal for the premium segment which demonstrates the ability of German manufacturers to adapt to French environmental requirements. Recent restylings of the Stellantis range maintain their access to the bonus, notably the Citroën Jumpy and Space Tourer, the Fiat Scudo and Ulysse, or the Opel Vivaro, Zafira Life and Mokka. Skoda is also preparing the ground for its restyled Enyaq which will retain this valuable commercial advantage.
Absentees who question the market
The race for the ecological bonus also creates its disappointments. The Leapmotor T03, which aimed to become the cheapest electric car on the French market, remains on the shelf. This absence raises questions about French regulations, given that the vehicle now in the Stellantis galaxy is assembled in Poland. A situation which could slow down the development of electric car fleets in France.
