With iOS 26 Things change, and thanks to its new function, we will be able to see if we have calls with someone, which can be useful, especially if we receive one that we do not relate to anyone, nor do we know why we have that contact saved, being able to see the last time we spoke with them.
Custom call history in iOS 26
With iOS 26, Apple has added a feature that allows you to view your entire call history with any contact, which is very useful if you want to remember when you spoke to someone or check the duration of a call. Previously, you could only view limited history in the “Recent” tab, but now you have much more detailed access.
To use this feature, Open the Phone app and go to “Recents”. Find the contact you are interested in and tap their name. Then, tap the information icon (the circled “i”) next to the name. There you will find the option «Call history»which will show all incoming, outgoing and missed calls with that contact, including date, time and duration of each one.
The history can span months or even years, depending on how long you have been using the iPhone and the number of calls you have made with that person. However, some users have found that the history appears to be limited to approximately the last 2.5 years, so very old calls cannot always be seen. We don't know if this depends on a total limit, if you are one of those who talk a lot, or if it is individual, so you will have to try it for yourself.
This feature is great if you want to have details of your calls at hand, such as the exact date or duration. In addition, it makes it easier for you to keep track of your communications without depending on external apps or having to write it down anywhere. This, together with the improvement of Apple Intelligent, can be very interesting, since, later, we could ask Siri when we last spoke to a personand give us a summary of it.
iOS 26 is changing a lot of what we knew about the system, adapting everything to the next generation of AIs, which can make our lives much easier, or at least save us a lot of time in these small details, since, previously, we could spend hours finding a call from a long time ago that we do not remember exactly when it was, and we could even skip it accidentally.
