ios 18 iconUnsurprisingly, users are quickly updating their iPhones to iOS 18.1 following the launch of Apple Intelligence.

The first AI features, launched with iOS 18.1 in English, had a strong impact on installs, Apple CEO Tim Cook said in an interview with CNBC.

A promising first wave

According to Tim Cook, customers are downloading and installing iOS 18.1 at twice the rate of iOS 17.1 at the same time last year. Apple has yet to provide official figures on iOS 18 adoption, but there’s no reason not to believe Steve Jobs’ successor.

iOS 18.1, launched last Monday, brings Apple Intelligence features to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 16 models. But as you know, France will have to wait until April 2025 to be entitled to it in French and without fiddling with the iPhone settings.

Among the new features, we find writing tools, a new visual aspect for Siri with the typing function, summaries and smart replies, a cleaning tool for Photos, and many others like souvenir films.

The sequel comes in December

iOS 18.2, scheduled for December, could encourage even more users to update their devices, as it will include Apple Intelligence’s first image generation features, such as the Image Playground and Genmoji. But it won’t be until next April that Apple’s figures could explode, with the international launch of its AI tools.

Who is waiting for the release of Apple Intelligence in France to upgrade to the latest version or treat themselves to an iPhone 16?
