If you live in Spain, you will have noticed that, in recent days, many communities do not speak of anything other than forest fires That they are sweeping part of the country, and, reside in these places, or not, you may be interested in knowing their status.
Today we will review how we can do it very easily with our iPhoneand how this system works, since several things must be taken into consideration, because we will not be able to know many data at the time, that is, you have to take all this with tweezers.
Know the status of a fire with your iPhone
To do this, we must download the Google Maps app, which comes from the factory in the Android, but not on the iPhone, where we have maps, another similar application, but that does not have this system. We can do it in the App Store itself.
Once installed, it is easy to visualize the fire map, since we will only have to play on the “layers” icon that appears in the upper right of the app, and select the map of “forest fires”, which will show us, immediately, where the assets are at this time, and the last time of updating thereof.
From now on we can move on the map, as usual, seeing the areas affected by this problem, as well as cut roads and other types of incidents related to them. Of course, as we said, it is not in absolutely real time, since it would be impossible, and sometimes it takes hours to update, although it will indicate the last time it was done, so that we know how much realistic it is.
All this is given by Satellites such as Modis (NASA) and VIIRS (NOAA/NASA)which make periodic passes over the same area. They are not “looking all the time” every point on the earth, but collect information when they pass, so sometimes it can be more recent, and in others not.
There are more apps that indicate this type of fires, although most use this system, so if in Google Maps it is not updated, it may not be more reliable to use a Google officer, since it has more precise, and fast systems for this type of updates, and they can guide us above all if we need to move by car in an affected area.
And you, do you know any way to see, from an iPhone, FIRE IN REAL TIME? The best are the WhatsApp groups of nearby areas, but do not always offer real information, and above all, when we talk about forest areas where no one lives. Leave us a comment if you know more ways of being aware of all this, and much encouragement to those affected by these fires, who are already part of the most serious in the history of our country. Hopefully they end up soon and we do not need to use this type of applications.
