Xiaomi has been keeping a secret weapon for 2025. It’s called HyperOS 2.3, and it will be key to kick-starting mass adoption of Android 16 and, in the process, preparing for the arrival of HyperOS 3. An update that very few of us expected, but which will begin rolling out at the end of June with more new features than expected.
Unlike other versions, HyperOS 2.3 won’t seek to revolutionize what we already know, but rather to reinforce the great work Xiaomi has accomplished with its customization layer. Based on Android 16, this new version will achieve excellence following the arrival of HyperOS 3, seeking greater protection of our data and privacy, and optimizing the overall performance of the system.
What new features will HyperOS 2.3 bring, and what Xiaomi phones will it arrive on?
Talking about the new features of HyperOS 2.3 is synonymous with talking about those of Android 16, as this new version will be fully based on Google’s new operating system. This translates into significant improvements in privacy and security, as well as in system control, highlighting a new set of encryption protocols that will strengthen the protection of personal information.

Furthermore, HyperOS 2.3, by leveraging Android 165, incorporates new, more detailed permission management, as well as a more accurate and reliable biometric authentication system. Added to this will be new techniques capable of detecting and blocking potential threats and malicious applications before they can run, thus preventing information theft. In short, HyperOS 2.3 will focus on security, thereby improving our privacy.
However, not all Xiaomi phones will be able to upgrade to this version. HyperOS 2.3 will be reserved for models compatible with Android 16, meaning those already running Android 15 and still in active support. Older or entry-level devices will be excluded. The main candidates for this update will be these models:
- Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 15 Pro, Xiaomi 15 Ultra
- Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, Xiaomi 14 Ultra
- Redmi Note 14, Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi Note 14 Pro, Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G
- Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G
- POCO F7 Pro, POCO F7 Ultra
- POCO M7 Pro 5G
- POCO X7, POCO X7 Pro
- POCO F6 Pro
- POCO X6 Pro
- Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4
- REDMI Turbo 4 Pro
In addition, the first updates to HyperOS 2.3 are expected to begin rolling out at the end of June, just after Google officially releases Android 16. With this, Xiaomi will seek to become one of the companies that most quickly deploys this update, thus demonstrating its commitment to user security and privacy.
