It has now been three weeks since the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K replaced the V2 on my desk. This new version retains the qualities that made the original successful, while bringing some welcome improvements. Let’s test this new model to see if it still has limitless versatility.

An unchanged design, and that’s so much the better

Razer did not try to reinvent the wheel with this new version. The Basilisk V3 Pro 35K uses the proven ergonomic design. Its asymmetrical shape fits the right hand perfectly, with a generous thumb rest and textured surfaces that ensure excellent handling. The weight of 112 grams offers a perfect balance between stability and maneuverability.
The 13 programmable buttons are ideally positioned, accessible without contortions. The HyperScroll wheel remains a real asset, capable of automatically switching between precise notched scrolling and ultra-fast free mode. A real plus for alternating between gaming and web browsing.
New sensor for a new life?
The real change is under the hood. The new Focus Pro 35K Optical Gen-2 sensor further improves precision and responsiveness. DPI customization in increments of 1 allows ultra-fine sensitivity adjustment for pros where every pixel counts. Of course, in a casual gaming setting like mine, this kind of setting and such high DPIs are overkill. He who can do more can do less, as they say.

The automatic adaptation to the surface also works very well. I tested the mouse on different mouse pads, on raw wood and even on glass: the tracking remains impeccable. This technical versatility makes it a great tool for creatives who work on varied surfaces.
Autonomy that makes the difference
Battery improvements are a game-changer for everyday life. With 140 hours of battery life in HyperSpeed Wireless mode and up to 210 hours in Bluetooth, recharges become much more frequent. It was common for me to last ten days without having to recharge, with the RGB brightness at maximum without having to plug in the USB-C cable.

In this regard, Razer sells the Mouse Dock Pro which further enhances the experience. It allows you to recharge the mouse by serving as a magnetic base, without the need for a wire. A luxury that we would have liked to be available as standard with this Pro version of the Basilisk. Unfortunately, you will have to spend 99 euros more to get the dock. A pack exists to save a few euros, but the price is obviously significant.
Impressive versatility
The strength of the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K lies in its ability to adapt to all uses. Customizable profiles allow you to instantly switch between different configurations. The particularity of the Basilisk has always been the presence of a third button under the thumb, often called the “sniper button” used by gamers to change DPI on the fly.

It is of course possible to assign this third key to any function, which is particularly practical in everyday life. It helps me, for example, when writing this test, to emphasize certain sentences with bold. No need to use keyboard shortcuts, and everything is conveniently under your thumb. A third button which is a saving grace in certain games like Overwatch 2, where every hero ability is available at your fingertips.

The precision of the sensor, coupled with the numerous customization possibilities, makes it a true digital Swiss army knife.
Synapse is changing

Razer took advantage of this update to refine its software. The interface is clearer, the customization more intuitive. New HyperScroll wheel settings provide even finer control over scrolling behavior.
Chroma lighting remains a model of its kind with its customizable zones which integrate perfectly into the Razer ecosystem. Even the Mouse Dock Pro is customizable on this hub of products sold by the peripherals expert.
Our opinion on the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K

At €179.99, the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is clearly positioned in the premium segment and such is the price of excellence. The purchase is substantial, especially if we add the Mouse Dock Pro.

However, its versatility makes it a mouse that can be used for both productivity and gaming. No need to buy a specific mouse for gaming and another for work. She is therefore the best possible everyday mouse.
