IKEA presented a new collection of smart products that will work with Apple HomeKit and the Matter standard. There are 21 devices in total that will go on sale in January next year. The idea is that anyone can set up a connected home without complications or high prices.
Among the new products there are eleven smart bulbs of different sizes and styles: the classic E27, the smaller E14 or the GU10 bulb type. Some offer dimmable white light and others can change color. There will also be transparent glass models, designed more for decoration than for strong lighting.
In addition, IKEA will launch several sensors designed to make the home more comfortable and safe. There will be motion sensors for inside and outside the home, door and window opening detectors, temperature and humidity meters, air quality sensors and even one that detects water leaks. Everything can be connected to the home system to automate lights, alerts or routines.
The collection also includes remote controls and smart plugs. with them Lights or appliances can be turned on with the push of a buttonwithout depending on the mobile. Thanks to the use of Matter technology and the Thread protocol, devices communicate directly with each other, making everything work faster and more stable.
