Huion announced in September the release of a new version of the Kamvas 13 pen display, which it named Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) to distinguish it from its predecessor.
The original version launched in 2020 and quickly became a popular, portable choice for art students and hobbyists on a budget. As expected, it took a share of the small screen market.
Highlights:
As digital industry technologies have evolved, Huion has upgraded the Kamvas 13 to meet the current market and creators’ demands. The Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) not only offers more powerful capabilities than the initial version, but also remains in the same price range.
Advanced PenTech 4.0 Technology
Most impressively, Huion has generously applied its latest PenTech 4.0 pen technology to the Kamvas 13 (Gen 3). This means artists can now enjoy finely tuned pen pressure, precise cursor tracking, and 2g IAF (Initial Actuation Force) for a true-to-life pen-on-paper writing experience, which was previously only available on the Kamvas Pro 19 and Pro 27.
A brand new canvas glass
The canvas glass adopts anti-reflective treatment on the surface and optimizes anti-glare properties to effectively combat strong light interference while minimizing graininess on solid color backgrounds. In addition, it offers a paper-like texture for an authentic drawing feel. It is fully laminated with optically clear adhesive, ensuring excellent display performance.
A faithful representation of colors
Another highlight is that the display offers two color space modes. Artists can select sRGB or Rec.709 mode from the OSD menu to handle various creative work, such as web and graphic design or video production. Each display undergoes rigorous factory color calibration to achieve ΔE<1.5, ensuring faithful color representation.
Versatile interactions
Dual-wheel controllers provide ergonomic comfort and tactile feedback. With 5 silent pressure keys combined, it is a powerful tool to increase productivity and efficiency.
Featuring a 13.3-inch display, the Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) is compact and easy to carry in your bag wherever you go. Its affordable price also makes it suitable for beginners, photo editors, budding artists, and people engaged in online education and office work.
“The Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) is a testament to our commitment to improving user experience and empowering creators of all levels,” said Simon, Product Director of Huion. “We also hope that the performance of the Kamvas 13 (Gen 3) will live up to users’ expectations.”
