Currently, Apple is offering developers and public testers the opportunity to test the next major update: iOS 18.1, this update will bring several new features including Apple Intelligence features for American users. While the update is not even available yet, a leak specialist (Aaron Perris) was able to have preview access to the iOS 18.2 code and obviously to what the future update will contain!
Here are the two AI features that will be added with iOS 18.2 in the US
The gradual deployment of Apple Intelligence features will quickly continue after the deployment of iOS 18.1 scheduled for the end of October in the United States, according to a recent indiscretion. The iOS 18.2 update promises to be interesting with two new AI features that were talked about a lot during the Apple Intelligence presentation. While American users will discover the first artificial intelligence features in iOS 18.1, in France, you will have to wait until next year to access Apple Intelligence in French.
iOS 18.2: two major new features for iPhones
The iOS 18.2 beta, scheduled just after the release of iOS 18.1, will introduce two highly anticipated Apple Intelligence features to the United States:
- Siri boosted to ChatGPT : Siri will take a leap forward with the integration of ChatGPT, allowing the voice assistant to respond to much more complex and varied requests. This integration will significantly improve Siri’s ability to understand and interact with its users, providing more precise responses and more natural interactions.
- Visual Intelligence (iPhone 16 exclusive) : this new feature transforms the iPhone 16 camera into a real visual analysis tool. Visual Intelligence allows you to identify objects, animals, or even businesses in real time, simply by pointing the camera. Whether it’s recognizing a breed of dog or finding information about a store, this feature brings to mind the efficiency of Google Lens, but with an Apple twist. With Visual Intelligence, the Camera Control button will quickly become essential in everyday life!
A launch planned for December
The final version of iOS 18.2 is expected in December, just before the end of year holidays. Apple should trigger the beta program in the first week of November to allow developers and public testers to find and report all bugs, particularly on the two new AI features.
For the French, the year 2025 will mark the beginning of Apple Intelligence in our language, but for now, it is the United States that will have a head start with these innovations. We don’t really have a choice, we have to wait while watching Americans take advantage of Apple’s incredible AI features!
