Although we all expected a presentation where the iPhone 17 Pro Max had exclusive characteristics with respect to the 17 Pro, it has not been so, and Apple has taught us the two phones together, without differentiating anything, as did happen previous years, where the Pro Max had a better camera, or more storage.
This year, as we said, it has not been so, and the two phones have the same, or that says Apple, although it is not, because because of the difference in size, there are things that change, and that is what we are going to see today, to analyze whether one, or another is more profitable.
What does the iPhone 17 Pro Max have?
Apart from the price, something that we all take into account when buying a device, and where logically the Pro Max remains more expensive, there are another 3 clear differentiating aspects of this model with respect to its little brother. They are logical, but we are going to comment.
- Screen size: This is the clearest, and if you like large mobiles, with the Pro Max you will have 6.9 inches, compared to the 6.3 offered by the PRO, something that does not seem much, but when you have them together, you notice it, and enough, so it is the point to take into account.
- Battery: For me, something fundamental, and that is that in any test of any year, we notice how a Pro Max has a much larger duration than that of the PRO, and although the screen is larger and spends more battery, its capacity, due to the dimensions, it is also superior, so it usually gives us about 20% more performance, something that is appreciated, and much, especially at the end of the day.
- Storage: Although this year the small model has increased its base capacity, starting in 256 GB, and equal to that of the Pro Max, there is still a difference, and it can reach the 2 TB of internal memory, while the PRO only reaches 1 TB. It is true that both may have external SSD, and that to get maximum capacity you have to take the wallet, because it is not cheap, but if you are one of those who need that factory storage, it is something to take into account too.
For the rest, the devices are exactly the same, and incorporate the same lenses, screens, connectors speed, etc. That is why Apple has increased the PRO price by 100 eurossince the differences are now minimal, and if you want one or the other, it will depend more on its size, than on its functions, although the fact that the battery also lasts more, is something that can motivate many to go for the Pro Max this year, especially, also, because it has not risen in price.
