The folding iPhone will be ultra -resistant
This decision is a significant advance with respect to the traditional hinges of folding devices, which are usually the weak point in terms of wear and fold formation on the screen.
The use of this material is no accident. Unlike conventional metals, metal glass has a messy atomic structure that makes it extremely resistant to deformation, corrosion and impacts. In fact, its hardness is 2.5 times higher than that of titanium, which makes it an ideal option for a piece that will be subject to constant mechanical stress. The exclusive supplier of this alloy will be Dongguan Eontec, a company specialized in the production of amorphous metals for the technology industry.
As for the device design, the iPhone Fold is expected to adopt a format similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy Z FOLD, with a main 7.8 -inch screen when it is deployed and a 5.5 -inch secondary screen on the deck.
