There will be no going back! AI is now an integral part of our daily lives, as this new report demonstrates. On LinkedIn, the social network dedicated to the world of work, one post in two is now written entirely by artificial intelligence.

LinkedIn flooded with AI publications

A report published by Originality.ai explores the growing use of AI-generated content on LinkedIn. Many professionals use tools like ChatGPT to write articles, posts, and job descriptions. Although this content is often perceived as effective and well-structured, it raises questions about authenticity and actual user engagement.

The numbers are striking. Since the release of ChatGPT in late 2022, the use of AI in LinkedIn posts has increased by 189%. So, 54% long messages on the platform would now be generated by AI, i.e. more than one in two posts. In addition, the length of messages has exploded by 107% over the same period, further proof of the success of artificial intelligence over the last two years.

Methodology

To conduct this study, Originality.ai analyzed approximately 8,795 long posts (at least 100 words) on LinkedIn, using an AI detector over a period of 82 months, from January 2018 to October 2024. Although this does not constitute a proof of absolute reliability, it is nevertheless a concrete method allowing the figures mentioned above to be seriously considered.

Good or bad thing?

In reality, there are positive and negative aspects. AI has significantly raised the standard of human publications. Posts are now better structured, more understandable and more complete, which is beneficial for readers. Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung and company also highlight this point during each conference around AI. AI can write your emails, your SMS, your CV and also your posts on LinkedIn.

On the other hand, it is obvious that sincerity takes a hit. A business manager who wishes to promote a position must write his own message to faithfully illustrate his personal expectations and provide essential authenticity. However, it must be admitted that the world of work reflects a part of society in which the truth is not always put forward. Whether the message is written by a human or an AI, it does not necessarily change the final perception of the reader. As long as general information is conveyed, that’s the main thing.

The report still wants to warn you for your next readings on LinkedIn. Now it’s AI that speaks to you.
