Logitech has just unveiled its new console dedicated to content creators, the MX Creative Console. With this complete device composed of a keyboard and a wheel, the peripheral giant intends to establish itself in a market until now dominated by the Elgato Stream Deck. Available in October at a price of €229, the MX Creative Console is positioned as a more versatile and affordable alternative.
A tool designed for creatives, in partnership with Adobe
Unlike the Stream Deck, which is often criticized for its gaming orientation, Logitech’s MX Creative Console focuses on ergonomics and advanced integration with creative software, particularly those in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite. Thanks to a close partnership, Logitech has developed custom plugins for Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Illustrator and After Effects.
The MX Creative Keypad features 9 fully customizable LCD keys, allowing you to assign shortcuts or macros for each application. Meanwhile, the MX Creative DialPad offers precise control over settings and quick access to the most used functions. All this is managed via the Logi Options+ application, with the ability to configure up to 135 shortcuts per software.
A more flexible and scalable alternative to the Stream Deck
While Elgato’s Stream Deck has won over creators with its intuitive interface, it suffers from a lack of flexibility and limited integration with professional applications. Logitech aims to fill these gaps with its MX Creative Console. Not only are the shortcuts fully customizable, but the console will also be compatible with more creative software.
Another major asset, Logitech is also launching the Logi Marketplace, a community platform where users can share and download profiles, icon packs and additional plugins. A software development kit (SDK) will soon be available to allow everyone to create content. Enough to make the MX Creative Console even more adaptable in the long term.
Good value for money despite some limitations
Although very promising, Logitech’s MX Creative Console still has some limitations compared to its competitors. The lack of cloud preset saving, a feature that is present on the Stream Deck, is particularly regrettable. Logitech promises to add this option in 2025.
That being said, at €229 with a 3-month Creative Cloud subscription included, the MX Creative Console offers excellent value for money compared to the Stream Deck sold for $150 alone. Available in two colors (graphite gray and pale gray), it will be available from October 15.
With this new accessory designed for creatives, Logitech clearly shows its ambition to establish itself in a booming market. It remains to be seen whether the MX Creative Console will manage to dethrone the Stream Deck, despite its more professional and versatile positioning. In any case, the first tests seem very encouraging for this promising challenger.
