Gran Turismo celebrates 30 years of PlayStation with a free game
To celebrate the console’s 30th anniversary, PlayStation has announcement the exit of My First Gran Turismo on December 6, 2024 on PS4, PS5 and PSVR 2. This free experience is specially designed to introduce new players to the series, with simplified controls, detailed tutorials and a more accessible approach to gameplay.
A great way to discover the sensations of the legendary Gran Turismo series, the latest opus of which, Gran Turismo 7, was released in 2022. The game retains the essence of the franchise, notably the realistic graphics and the pleasure of driving, while making the experience more welcoming for beginners. Gran Turismo veterans will also find a way to share their passion with new players.

It’s not just about playing a game, but embarking on a personal adventure on the roads. We’ve developed an intuitive experience that will allow everyone to get behind the wheel and master the basics like cornering, braking and accelerating. One lap at a time, users will gain confidence and take on new challenges that will allow them to continue refining their driving skills.
Players will enjoy a variety of challenges, including three racing events, three time trials and three Music Rally levels, as well as numerous license events. In terms of driving, 18 unique cars will be available on iconic tracks such as Kyoto Driving Park and Deep Forest Raceway.
The very first opus of the Gran Turismo series was released on December 23, 1997 in Japan and May 8, 1998 in Europe on PlayStation 1. In 27 years, this series has become one of the main references in motorsport games, with eight main episodes and five variations.
