NetEase studio announced great news to gamers with the arrival of Destiny: Rising on mobile, a free-to-play RPG shooter set in the beloved universe of the guys from Bungie. Officially licensed, Rising will take place in an alternate timeline that explores the post-Dark Ages era. No release date has been set yet, but a closed alpha test will take place starting November 1st.

A beautiful promise

NetEase is therefore committed to providing us with the experience Destiny on mobile, with the series’ iconic shooting mechanics. Better, to convince the most reluctant, you will have the choice in your way of approaching the game: you can opt for a first or third person perspective, and choose between controls via touch screen or the use of a controller.

Throughout your adventure in Destiny: Risingyou will meet various characters, each with a unique story to tell and specific skills to exploit. Part of the gameplay involves selecting the right character depending on the mission, with some being more suited to certain situations than others.

Learning their stories will likely be integrated into a campaign mode, but NetEase has also confirmed six co-op missions, allowing you to play with your friends. For more competitive players, the game also offers several PvP multiplayer modes.

And of course, Destiny: Rising wouldn’t be complete without collecting exotic weapons. Each weapon can be customized to your combat preferences, although details on the extent of these adjustments remain unknown at this time.

What to expect from Destiny Rising

Fans of the Bungie saga are hoping for a game worthy of the name. Here are the points we hope to see in the game:

  1. A complete Destiny experience : Players want a full version of Destiny on mobile, not a simplified version. Fast-paced combat, epic bosses, and immersive gameplay should remain intact.
  2. New classes : Destiny has only offered three classes (Hunter, Titan, and Warlock) for ten years. Perhaps it’s time to introduce new classes, such as a dedicated support role or a melee-focused character, which could bring a new dynamic without overloading the roster.
  3. Maintain the quality of the storytelling : Destiny’s rich story and memorable characters are essential to its appeal. Although NetEase has creative freedom, they must respect the original story and characters, ensuring that Destiny: Rising offers faithful narration.
  4. Avoid aggressive monetization : Fans hope that Destiny: Rising will not adopt the model of Destiny 2based on paid expansions and seasonal content, which disappointed many players. A bit like Blizzard’s Diablo Immortal.
